Happy One Year Anniversary
Dear Bottle Bitches, First and foremost, thank you so much for all your support. Bottle Magazine was inspired from a couple sad 20-something year old women who were tired of being lectured at, talked about and marketed to, without an invitation in to sit at the table.
So we made our own table. And wow, has it been a fun place to drink at.
When we started Bottle Magazine, we had no idea how much we needed it. Then 2016 turned out to be the year that it was.
Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Pulse night club, Charleston, Zika, Brexit, DAPL, countless deaths and painful terrorist attacks. These are just a few times this year we have had to lean on each other for support and love.
Over the past year, though, some great things have happened, too: the Juno spacecraft, the Paris Climate Change Agreement, Pokemon Go, Lin-Manuel Miranda, a new Harry Potter book and movie, Leo finally winning his Oscar, the US Women’s Gymnastics Team winning gold, five women getting elected to Congress, and, of course, Lemonade and Queen Bey.
This year, Bottle Bitches have been featured in Tucson Weekly, the Huffington Post, USA Today affiliates and more. We’ve become more comfortable standing up to the powers at be. We’ve created a community where women feel safe, strong and powerful when we needed it most.
Bottle is not for the light of heart. It is for women who love to feel, devour thought, exude a crass-y kind of class and push their fellow women to do the same. As far as I’m concerned, that includes exactly every woman I know.
So with the help of our Bottle Bitches, we present our print magazine that you can buy on Etsy. We are also launching our video platform that will take the same care to present important feminist issues to a wider audience (hint: every issue is a feminist issue).
Thank you. I can’t wait for you to see what we have in store. I’m so glad you have all supported our endeavor to stop bottling it up.
We hope you love this as much as we do. If you have any comments, questions or just want to chat, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
